Sarah Mueller -- library assistant

Sarah Mueller has graced the newsroom library for the past two and one-half years. Her tenure here was short in years but her mark on the library is indelible. As part of the archiving team, her primary duties were to add stories and images to the databases, a job made a bit more difficult the past year due to changes in newsroom technology. Her dedication to detail, her pride in her work, and her devotion to all things library has allowed our archive to be accurate and up to date despite the technological hurdles.

One amazing thing about Sarah is her ability to focus on a project, no matter how tedious or redundant the work may be, and provide results that far surpass expectations. A good example of this is her steady and meticulous work on the older photos in the archive that required keywords, bibliographic and caption information to be entered into the database. She completed the work on thousands of photos.

Whether it was adding material to the text and image databases, or compiling information for the library's intranet, Sarah was working behind the scenes. But because of her work, thousands and thousands of stories and photos will be found and used by reporters and editors for years to come.

Sarah worked quietly but could share a hearty laugh. She now will be finishing her work toward a master's degree in Library and Information Studies with a specialization in archives and records administration.
