Cooler temperatures and rain every other day will be the dominant weather pattern in southern Wisconsin Friday through Wednesday.
Friday's high should be in the upper 50s with a chance of showers under cloudy skies, but a clear, cold and calm Friday night could produce patchy frost in southern Wisconsin, with temperatures dropping to the mid 30s.
Saturday will start out with sun, according to Weather Central meteorologist Brian Olson, with clouds coming in later in the day and rain expected late at night.
Mother's Day on Sunday could be a good day to stay inside, with wind and rain in the morning, cloudy skies later in the day and a high temperature of only 51 degrees.
Monday's forecast calls for sun and warmer temperatures in the mid 60s before more showers and thunderstorms come back Tuesday.
Thursday's high in Madison was 63 degrees, three degrees below normal and 16 degrees below the 79 recorded a year ago on May 8.
