Sheriff to swear in new deputies

Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney will swear in 11 new deputies during a ceremony Monday.

The ceremony will take place at about 8:30 a.m. in the Public Safety Building, 115 W. Doty St.

The new deputies are: Donald Dudley, 21, DeForest; Dwight Schuster, 41, Sun Prairie; Tennita Funmaker, 24, Milwaukee; Kathryn Gove, 25, McFarland; Haley Collins, 21, Lansing, Mich.; Joshua LaFevre, 23, Alger, Mich.; Adam Mattson, 27, Sun Prairie; Corey Passer, 22, Milton; Jason Rudolph, 38, Madison; Lance Severson, 28, Cottage Grove; and Brian Williams, 28, Stoughton.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, Monday marks the start of a 23-week training program for the deputies before they start work in the Dane County Jail.
