Med Flight service 24/7 again
Med Flight is back in service 24/7.
The UW Hospital emergency medical helicopter service started 24-hour-a-day operations at 7 a.m. Saturday after resuming a limited 12-hour daily shift on May 23.
Med Flight stopped flying May 10, following the crash of one of the service's two helicopters near La Crosse, killing flight physician Dr. Darren Bean, flight nurse Mark Coyne and pilot Steve Lipperer.
Med Flight spokesman Aaron Conklin said the service will use the one helicopter Med Flight now has in two shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
