Award-winning journalist and "Democracy Now!" host Amy Goodman will be speaking at the Barrymore Theatre Friday night during the Wisconsin Book Festival.
Joining Goodman are Jeremy Scahill, author of "Blackwater," and Bob McChesney, host of the radio show "Media Matters."
The talk and book signing is free and doesn't require tickets.
Goodman -- whose column runs every week in CT, The Capital Times' Wednesday publication and on captimes.com, is the 2008 winner of the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the "Alternative Nobel." Goodman was the first journalist to receive the award widely recognized as the world's premier award for personal courage and social transformation.
The talk and book signing will begin at 8 p.m. at the theater at 2090 Atwood Ave.
Goodman was arrested while covering the Republican National Convention in St. Paul in September. Her arrest was captured on video and quickly gained popularity on YouTube.
She and two "Democracy Now!" producers were arrested while reporting on street demonstrations. The charges were dropped after a public outcry.
