Fitchburg man busted on gun possession, other charges
Madison Police, working in conjunction with U.S. Marshal and ATF agents, on Tuesday arrested a Fitchburg man who was wanted by the Monona Police Department in connection with a burglary investigation.
Authorities approached Matthew Yancy, 18, near the 5200 block of Williamsburg Way on the city's south side around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police said, and officers searched Yancy and found a loaded .22 pistol, ammunition and marijuana.
Yancy reportedly told officers he had found the firearm in a nearby area. He was booked into the Dane County Jail on two charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana.
