The Madison Police Department is seeking information relating to a hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist Saturday night.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the 2500 block of South Park Street. According to police, a 44-year-old Madison man was riding his bike westbound on Badger Road and attempted to cross Park Street just as the light was turning yellow.
The victim was on his bike and in the crosswalk when a car turned left from eastbound Badger Road onto Park Street and hit the bicyclist, dragging him approximately 20 feet before stopping. He was hospitalized with multiple non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene temporarily, but fled before police arrived. He is described as a black male, 6'2"-6'3", 190 pounds, and 26-30 years old with shoulder-length braided hair. The man was wearing a black bandana and black T-shirt and had a chain around his neck with a large, white rubber skull on it. He was driving a late '90s model Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.
Anyone with information on the driver is asked to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
