Madison police have arrested a teenager in connection with a strong-armed robbery that occurred at Madison Metro's South Transfer Point the night of June 30.
On the afternoon of July 3, a South District officer spotted the teen walking near Penn Park and Park Street. According to the Madison Police Department, the officer recognized the teen from a surveillance video taken the night of the robbery.
The video showed a number of perpetrators punching, kicking and robbing an 18-year-old Fitchburg man at about 10:30 p.m. on June 30. The victim's cell phone and bus pass were stolen, but he was not seriously injured.
Officers continue to investigate the incident and hope to soon identify the others involved in the crime.
