Police release sketch of mugging suspect
Madison police Friday released the sketch of a man that is believed to have robbed a woman on Mound and St. James streets on her way home from a bar early Thursday morning.
The perpetrator is described as a 6-foot-tall black male with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and carrying a silver-colored handgun.
The victim, 22, told police she was walking home from a bar early Thursday morning when the man approached her with a gun. The man took her purse and got into a white car. He was last seen heading west on Mound Street.
Police ask anyone with information on the crime to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
