Firefighters douse porch fire
A downtown porch fire cause about $2,000 in damage early Saturday, but caused no injuries.
A passerby called the Fire Department to the fire at 437 W. Wilson St. at 2:07 a.m., and the fire was extinguished 10 minutes later.
Damage was limited to the exterior porch of the two-flat building. In included a broken window and water damage. Residents of the building had gotten out by the time firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
