A crash on a private road in the town of Bristol Saturday night injured four people, the Dane County Sheriff's Office reported.

The injuries reported range from serious to minor, but no further details were available and names were not being released pending notification of family.

The single vehicle crash happened about 8:20 p.m. Saturday on Damm Road, a private road with a residence at the end.

The driver accelerated his vehicle to a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve at the end of the road, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. The vehicle went airborne and crashed into a large boulder in the yard of the residence.

The driver and three passengers were not wearing seat belts, the Sheriff's Office said, adding that speed was a factor in the crash, but alcohol did not appear.

The crash remains under investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.
