Wisconsin Emergency Management is reporting that all 12 federal and state Disaster Recovery Centers will be open over the Fourth of July weekend.
Federal Coordinating Officer Dolph Diemont said centers will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Wisconsin Emergency Management will be available to assist relief applicants with any questions or concerns.
People whose property was damaged in the recent storms and flooding are asked to register with FEMA before going to a center in order to expedite the application process. Victims can call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA or TTY 1-800-462-7585 or register online at www.fema.gov. Both registration services are open 24 hours a day.
Residents of the following 29 counties may be eligible for disaster assistance for damages caused by the storms: Adams, Calumet, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, La Crosse, Manitowoc, Marquette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Richland, Rock, Sauk, Sheboygan, Vernon, Walworth, Washington, Waukesha and Winnebago.
Disaster Recovery Centers are open in the following counties: Columbia (2), Crawford, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Grant, Milwaukee, Racine, Sauk, Vernon, Waukesha, Winnebago.
Jefferson County officials announced that a
recovery center is set to open soon in their area.
