Madison native Phil Hellmuth is still alive at the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas.

Hellmuth, the only former Main Event champion remaining in the field, was in 106th place after Day Four of the event with 581,000 chips.

Madison's Andy Schulte also advanced to Day Five. He is in a tie for 125th place with 454,000 chips.

The field was cut from 474 players to 189 Friday. Only 2.7 percent of the original field of 6,844 players remains.

Jeremy Joseph of Buffalo, N.Y., is the leader with 2,187,000 chips, slightly ahead of two players from Europe -- Nikolay Losev of Russia, and Cristian Dragomir of Romania.

Other well-known professionals remaining in the tournament include Mike Matusow, Hoyt Corkins, Gus Hansen and Allen Cunningham.
