DARLINGTON -- A collision between a horse-drawn buggy and a motorcycle on Sunday killed one person and injured 11 others in southern Wisconsin, the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office reported.
The driver of the motorcycle was driving north on County F when he missed a curve near the entrance to Yellowstone Lake State Park about 6 p.m. The motorcycle crossed the center line and hit the buggy.
The motorcycle driver, Joseph Hendrickson, 21, of Blue Mounds, was killed. He was not wearing a helmet.
Four adults and seven children in the buggy were injured, some severely. The four adults and four of the children were taken to hospitals. The other three children sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The Sheriff's Office said one of the two horses pulling the buggy had to be destroyed.
