Man nabbed after SUV drives over, injures motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was injured and an SUV driver arrested Sunday night after the allegedly intoxicated SUV driver drove over the motorcycle and cyclist on the city's east side.
Jose Carlos Perez-Mendez, 21, Madison was tentatively charged with injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, operating while intoxicated, failure to render aid to an injured party and operating after revocation following the accident, which happened at 6:19 p.m. on East Washington Avenue at Zeier Road.
The cyclist, Jason Hogan, 32, Madison, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Madison police, officers arrived on the scene to find the SUV parked on top of the motorcycle and the SUV driver having fled the scene on foot.
Perez-Mendez was found nearby and arrested.
