Palin 'Truth Squad' includes Wisconsin official

Associated Press  —  9/09/2008 5:18 pm

Former Lt. Gov. Margaret Farrow is a member of a new group formed by Republican presidential candidate John McCain to counter attacks on his running mate.

McCain's campaign says it created the 55-member so-called "Palin Truth Squad" to deal with attacks against vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

McCain and Palin appeared together in Wisconsin on Friday, just a day after the Republican National Convention ended in St. Paul, Minnesota.

McCain's campaign says the "Truth Squad" will issue alerts and statements to voters and the media when it feels a false attack, rumor or smear has been made against Palin.

Farrow was lieutenant governor under then-Gov. Scott McCallum for 19 months in 2001 and 2002.
