MILWAUKEE -- Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been ranked No. 2 in emergency care and No. 3 overall by Parents magazine.
The magazine surveyed more than 100 children's hospitals about survival rates, staff expertise and research.
The Milwaukee-area hospital also got high ratings in newborn, pulmonary and heart care.
Parents magazine lauded the Wisconsin hospital for its expertise in treating pediatric diabetes and for requiring every intensive-care nurse to pass a special test in advanced life support.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was ranked No. 1 overall, followed by Children's Hospital Boston.
The survey will appear in the February 2009 issue of Parents magazine.
