Sunday's forecast: 'Wow'

After a year of snow, flood and mosquitoes, the reward has finally come. A little dose of perfection is in the forecast for Sunday that could make the bad stuff a distant memory.

Highs are predicted for 75 with lows in the low 50s. With plenty of sunshine and a slight breeze, no one could order up a better day, particularly in August. The forecast is so good, it even impresses a meteorologist.

"It's going to be great, let me tell you," said James Conrad of Weather Central. "Wow. You couldn't ask for anything more."

There were some scattered showers around south central Wisconsin early Saturday evening, but Conrad expected them to taper off and clear away into Sunday. Lows Saturday and Sunday are expected to be around 50 degrees.

"It will feel good. It's cooler than normal but you can't complain for August," Conrad said.

Saturday's high was 81 degrees, right at normal. The low temperature of 58 was just under the normal 60 degrees.

Conrad said Monday should be another great day, clear with a high of 78. The rest of the week's forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms.

"We really need the rain," Conrad said, "but it's so nice. You can't really ask for anything more."
