Primer: captimes.comWe are dedicated to making captimes.com an easy to use and powerful information tool. This guide will help to get you started using this resource. We'll begin with a tour of the home page.
The top of the home page (and every page on captimes.com) is made up of four essential parts: the masthead, an informational area, a space for weather and the date, and the site navigation.
The masthead reminds you of our continuing legacy. It also serves as a navigation element. If you click on the masthead, you will be taken to the captimes.com homepage - no matter where you are on the captimes.com site.
The informational area lets us get messages out to the public quickly. As of the writing of this primer, we are using the info spot to welcome new users and let folks know about our redesign blog. The date and weather area works as advertised. Clicking on the weather image will take you to the madison.com weather page, with forecasts, radar loops and weather-related articles.
As proud as we are of the masthead, we recognize that the main navigation is perhaps the most important aspect of the site. This area will vary on other pages. Sports, for example, has many subnavigation elements with links specific sports topics. |
