Favre's Jets debut on NFL Network tonight

Brett Favre's debut with the New York Jets will be televised on NFL Network on Saturday at 6 p.m.

NFL Network is available on satellite providers DirecTV and DISH Network and cable company MHTC, which serves the Mount Horeb, Dodgeville and Blue Mounds areas. But it's not available on Charter Communications, the Madison area's dominant cable provider.

The Jets preseason game is against the Washington Redskins.

Favre was traded to the Jets by the Green Bay Packers earlier this month after he returned from the retirement he announced in March.

The Packers preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers Saturday at 8 p.m. is being televised by WKOW-TV/Channel 27, the local ABC affiliate. Favre's successor, Aaron Rodgers, gained mostly solid reviews for his play in last Monday's preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
