His sophomore year, he posted a 17-5 record at No. 2 doubles and finished third in the Big Eight Conference to earn honorable mention recognition. He played No. 3 doubles as a freshman and finished with an 11-10 record. Schneider was a two-time letterwinner in volleyball as an outside hitter. A captain as a senior, he led La Follette in kills, service aces and hitting attempts. He also earned All-State honorable mention honors, was named to the Big Eight Conference first team and was the Lancers' Most Valuable Player. The Lancers also were Big Eight co-champions. His freshman year, Schneider played forward on the frosh basketball team.
