After Aaron Bray reached on a fielder's choice, Joe Bonadonna singled and advanced to second third an error by left fielder Tillman Pugh while Bray scored to make it 5-2 Bombers. Bonadonna scored when Luke Stewart reached first and advanced to second on an error to pull the Mallards within 3-2.

The Mallards then scored two runs in each of the next four innings. They took the lead on Stewart's home run off Bryce Morrow.
