Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks underwent knee surgery Monday morning and is expected to be ready for spring training, the team announced in a release.
Weeks injured the meniscus in his left knee while running out a ground ball in the fourth inning of Saturday's Game 3 of the National League Division Series against Philadelphia.
Team doctor William Raasch trimmed away the damaged tissue during surgery at Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee. Weeks will begin therapy later this week.
