The Badgers' freshman class keeps looking better, and it always seems to be a different player who's putting the shine on the four-player group. While Ashley Thomas, Jamie Russell and Anya Covington took turns in the spotlight in the first few games, Jade Davis has stepped up in the last couple. The sharpshooter from Lone Tree, Colo., scored eight points in the final minutes of the first half Tuesday against UW-Milwaukee to ignite a sputtering UW offense. She has hit six of 11 3-point attempts. read story
With Andrew Bogut ailing, Dan Gadzuric had a big game off the bench. The seldom-used center had 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks, and fellow reserve Charlie Villanueva scored 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Milwaukee Bucks over the Chicago Bulls 97-90 Wednesday night. read story
Brett Joers of Middleton won the state competition of the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick contest in the boys 12-13 age group and was honored Sunday at a ceremony at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers' game against Carolina. read story
A year ago, there was a bit of surprise that Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey defenseman Ryan McDonagh wasn't selected to the United States roster for the World Junior Championship. The sophomore's selection to this year's team on Wednesday was no surprise. read story
