The University of Wisconsin men's golf team will be heading west in an effort to earn a spot in the NCAA finals.
The Badgers qualified for their second straight NCAA appearance as the 20th seed in the West Regional, the NCAA announced Monday.
The 27-team West Regional at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., May 15-17 will send 10 teams and two individuals not on advancing teams to the finals in West Lafayette, Ind., May 28-31.
"We're really excited to make regionals for a second straight year, which is outstanding for us, and also very excited to be in the West Coast region," UW coach Jim Schuman said. "That'll be something new for us, as we've been in the Central for the past few times. It'll be fun to face a new set of teams."
Wisconsin is the only Big Ten team in the West Regional, where Southern California is the top seed.
