The University of Wisconsin men's basketball
team will face upstart Davidson in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA
tournament Friday in Detroit.
Davidson, the Southern Conference champion and 10th seed in the
Midwest Region, shocked second-seeded Georgetown 74-70 on Sunday in
a second-round game in Raleigh, N.C.
Stephen Curry -- the son of former NBA long-range specialist Dell
Curry, who once played for the Milwaukee Bucks -- had a game-high
30 points for the Wildcats (28-6).
He made five free throws in the final 23 seconds to cap a huge
comeback by Davidson, which trailed by 17 points in the second
half.

Davidson College, located 20 miles north of Charlotte, N.C., is a
small, liberal arts school with enrollment of approximately
1,700.
The Wildcats, making their third straight trip to the NCAA
tournament, earned their first win in the Big Dance since 1969 on
Friday when they defeated seventh-seeded Gonzaga 82-76 behind 40
points from Curry.
The Badgers (31-4) advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in
school history Saturday with a 72-55 victory over Kansas State.
