A pair of United States teams loaded with University of Wisconsin women's hockey connections defeated Team Canada opponents Wednesday night as part of a three-game series between the countries.

Badgers coach Mark Johnson guided the Under-18 national squad to a 4-1 victory in Lake Placid, N.Y., while senior Erika Lawler, junior Meghan Duggan and sophomore Hilary Knight helped the Under-22 team to a 4-3 shootout triumph in Pierrefonds, Quebec.

Lawler and Duggan were both credited with assists as the U.S. converted 3-of-4 power-play attempts against Canada, which has UW recruit Brittany Haverstock on its roster.

Jocelyne Lamoureux clinched the victory for Team USA in the shootout.
