Jim Buechner <

Age: 49 <

Address: 101 Robyn Ridge, Mount Horeb. <

Job: Owns and operates Buechner Construction Inc. <

Political experience: Served on the Planning Commission and Business Park Committee for four years. <

Other public service: Served on the volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and member of the Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. <

Education: Bachelor's degree in building construction and design from UW-Platteville. <

Top priorities: Balance residential and business growth. Maintain the strong downtown commercial area. Manage new growth. <

    Age: 57 <

    Address: 307 Oak St., Mount Horeb <

    Job: Retired <

    Political experience: Served two years on the Village Board <

    Other public service: Dane County employee for 30 years, 15 years in the Department of Emergency Management. <

    Education: Two years at UW-Madison. <

    Top priorities: Preserve the culture in Mount Horeb. Plan for managed growth. Keep the money in the community. Keep tax burden to residents low. <

    Political experience: Served on the Planning Commission for two years. <

    Other public service: Provides a foster home for animals through the Dane County Humane Society. <

    Education: Bachelor's degree in biological systems engineering from UW-Madison. <

    Top priorities: Historic preservation. Increase the tax base. <

  • Don Schultze Age: 78 <

    Job: Retired <

    Political experience: Appointed to one term on the Village Board. <

    Other public service: Researcher with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 30 years. Served on the International Dairy Council for 15 years. <

    Education: Master's degree in agriculture bacteriology and holds a doctorate in dairy science from the University of Minnesota. <

    Top priorities: Control rapid growth in the village. Keep the growth slow and manageable. Maintain the village atmosphere. Maintain social atmosphere and services in the community.
