CHICAGO -- I've had a running verbal battle with Brewers manager Ned Yost the past few days and, sadly, it looks like I may win.
I told him Friday there was no way the Brewers and Cubs were going to get this opening day game in at Wrigley Field, and as I sit in the Wrigley press box at 9:45 a.m., it's lightly misting with a layer of fog that makes it difficult to see the high-rise apartment skyline looking toward Lake Michigan.
It's not official, but word is batting practice will be cancelled. Heavy storms are expected later.
I never root for rainouts but I'd hate to see Ben Sheets and Carlos Zambrano pitch a few innings before the rain delay comes, not only wiping out there opening day efforts but putting both managers in position to juggle their rotations on day one.
