CHICAGO -- The running joke among the Brewers' press corp is that Tony Gwynn was named NL player of the month for March and he's not even in Wednesday's lineup against the Chicago Cubs.
Blame manager Ned Yost.
Actually, blame the Cubs, who are throwing left-hander Ted Lilly this afternoon. Yost's plan coming into the season is to platoon Gabe Kapler and Gwynn, with Kapler getting the call against the left-handers. That's why the former manager of the Greenville Drive is in the lineup.
The lineups look like this for today's 1:20 p.m. start:

Gabe Kapler, CF
Prince Fielder, 1B
