MILWAUKEE -- It is now the bottom of the third with the Brewers leading the Giants 1-0.
I want to get this on the record. After watching Manny Parra pitch in the first inning, I wrote this for the Three Up, Three Down feature we run with my game reports. And now that Parra has thrown three hitless innings, I want to make sure this is out there just in case Parra continues on his merry way. Here it is:
Some sort of stuff: As this is being written after the top of the first, there is no way yet to determine Manny Parra's fate in the rookie left-hander's first start of the season. But the Giants Randy Winn will remember his first at bat when Parra threw fastballs at 97 and 94 mph for strikes and then struck him out with an 82 mph change. That's nasty.
