Brewers: Parra's bid for no-hitter ends
By VIC FEUERHERD

MILWAUKEE -- Left-hander Manny Parra's bid at a no-hitter -- as well as a shutout -- came to an abrupt end in the sixth inning against the Giants.

Eugenio Velez lined a triple into the right-field corner to lead off the inning and then scored on a pass ball charged to catcher Mike Rivera on a pitch from Parra that seemed to cross up the catcher. The one-hitter then ended when Randy Winn doubled to left.

Parra was eventually replaced in the sixth by David Riske after giving up a run-scoring single to Ray Durham that made it 3-2.

But the Brewers made it 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth on Ryan Braun's first home run of the season.
