Brewers: A look at some numbers

Seeing that baseball is a game wrapped in statistics, let's take a look this off day at how the Brewers are stacking up in the numbers department in a variety of categories compared to other National League teams.

Offensively, the Brewers are:

* Tops in batting average (.303); slugging percentage (.488) and average with runners in scoring position (.354).

* Tied with Atlanta in runs scored with 40.

* Second to San Diego (66) in total hits with 64.

* First in doubles with 18.

* Tied with Atlanta in total bases with 103.

* Tied with Atlanta in RBIs with 38.

The Brewers' pitching staff is:

* Fifth in team ERA at 3.17

* Third in fewest hits allowed.

* Second in strikeouts.

* Fourth in fewest baserunners allowed for six games (60 in 54 innings).
