Weeks injures knee
By VIC FEUERHERD

Second baseman Rickie Weeks is out for the rest of the playoff series against the Philadelphia Phillies and most likely out if the Brewers should advance because of a torn cartilage in his left knee.

Weeks was injured in Saturday night's victory trying to beat out an infield hit. His foot hit the bag and he twisted the knee. Weeks is likely to need surgery, assistant general manager Gord Ash said, though he was not sure when the surgery would take place.

Weeks was replaced on the active playoff roster by rookie shortstop Alcides Escobar, a September callup who spent the 2008 season at Class AA Huntsville. He is not likely to see action unless manager Dale Sveum needs a late-inning pinch-runner.
