Mallards blog: What's new at the park?
By TOM ZIEMER
Brief descriptions of three of the new features you'll see at Warner Park for Thursday night's Madison Mallards season opener.
Maynard's: If you're looking for a burger and some beer-battered onion rings, here's your spot. The restaurant, which is 100 percent locally sourced, features meat products from Stoddard's Meat Market in Cottage Grove. There's also a large window right in front of the grill that will allow fans to watch chefs cook their food.
Expanded Duck Blind: The right field line is a shorter corner to make room for additional seating. Groups can reserve picnic tables for a night of eating, drinking and heckling the right fielder.
DuckWear Depot: The team's souvenir stand has expanded into a temporary building down the third base line. It will be full of gear featuring the Mallards' new alternate logo.
