Future Madison Mallards Alan Ahmady and Trent Soares were part of the Fresno State team that beat Georgia 6-1 Wednesday night to win the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

Ahmady started at first base and went 0-for-3 with a run and a walk, while Soares pinch ran for the Bulldogs in the final game of the best-of-three series.

Ahmady finished the season batting a team-best .382 with 13 home runs and 92 runs batted in.

The Mallards said in a release on their Web site that the two will join the team "in the next week."

Soares hit .190 in 105 at-bats.
