GREEN BAY -- Hmmmmmm.
Not sure what happened last night between Brett Favre and Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress -- if anything -- but according to FOX9 in Minneapolis, Childress was at the Vikings' Winter Park facility in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie, Minn., this morning In fact, the station even has video of Childress, coffee cup in hand, walking into the office.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Wednesday that Childress, the Vikings coach and former University of Wisconsin assistant, had departed the team’s Winter Park headquarters Wednesday morning and was aboard a commercial flight to his meeting with Favre, who is mulling a second unretirement after 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and one with the New York Jets.
The two planned to have dinner together, then meet again today, the Star Tribune reported, citing a source with knowledge of the situation.
It would appear that the dinner meeting did not happen, and if the two men did get together Wednesday, it was brief. In a live chat on startribune.com today, reporter Judd Zulgad said the paper "had very good sources say that Childress was going to meet with Favre so I believe something was scheduled. I also think the ESPN report about a meeting was dead on. But as of right now, it doesn't appear as if (the meeting) has happened. Doesn't mean it won't."
Stay tuned.
