At a glance: Drafted 36th overall, with a pick acquired from the New York Jets when the Packers gave up the 30th pick, moving out of the first round. ... A high-school quarterback, went to Kansas State as a walk-on and redshirted in 2003, then rode the bench as a defensive back in 2004 before converting to receiver. ... In 2005, caught 45 passes for 669 yards and eight TDs while starting all 11 games that year; limited in '06 to nine starts by a left knee injury, catching just 39 passes for 547 yards and one TD. ... Had huge year as a senior last year, catching an astonishing 122 passes for 1,606 yards and 11 TDs, ranking him second in the nation in receptions and receiving yardage. ... Also returned two of his five punts for touchdowns. ... Set 11 receiving records at KSU, including most catches in a game (15 against Missouri last year) and yards in a game (214 against Iowa State). ... Caught at least 10 passes in six games. ... I think he's a bright young man and I think he'll pick things up quickly. It makes the group a better group when you have more talent. It makes the whole group better.
