NFL Draft: Patrick Lee at a glance
By JASON WILDE
608-252-6176

PATRICK LEE, CB, AUBURN

5-foot-11 7/8, 194 pounds, 4.41 seconds in 40-yard dash

At a glance: Drafted 60th overall. ... Never had been a starter before his senior year, redshirting in 2003 and playing in sub defenses in '04, '05 and '06, although he did start nine games during his sophomore and junior years. ... Had 55 tackles, 10 pass breakups and four interceptions as a senior starter. ... While very raw and somewhat inexperienced, plays strong and physical and has very good recovery speed. ... Solid tackler with excellent competitive fire and the ability to play both outside and in the slot. ... Physical strength helps him play in bump-and-run man coverage, which the Packers use almost exclusively. ... Should chip in on special teams right away and will have a chance to be the nickel back immediately. ... Tackling ability might make him an option at safety, although he didn't play there in college.

Quotable: "Patrick Lee's a very good player," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said. "He's a kick returner, he's a tough guy, he likes to play bump-and-run, I think he's going to fit well with what we try to do on defense in terms of putting these guys in lockdown situations. He's very energetic and a good athlete -- obviously, to play that position. We feel very good that he was there. We didn't have any idea that he would be there when it was our pick at 60. We feel that was a really good value pick."
