NFL Draft: Packers trade up, take Wake Forest DE Jeremy Thompson with 102nd overall pick
GREEN BAY -- Finally, Ted Thompson traded UP in the NFL draft.
After making his 10th draft-day trade on Saturday to move back from No. 30 and out of the first round -- marking the 15th consecutive trade (including his time in Seattle) in which Thompson moved back -- the Packers GM traded up with the New York Jets to take Wake Forest defensive end Jeremy Thompson.
To get the 102nd pick from the Jets, the Packers sent pick No. 113, which they'd received from the Jets in Saturday's trade, and also gave the Jets the 162nd pick, a fifth-rounder.
The Packers have two more fourth-round picks to go but won't have a fifth- or sixth-round pick.
