GREEN BAY --The summit between ex-Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and his prospective new team, the Minnesota Vikings, is set for tonight and Thursday in Mississippi.
Judd Zulgad of The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Vikings coach Brad Chlidress will leave the Twin Cities later today to meet with Favre in Mississippi.
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Judd reports that Childress is expected to depart for Mississippi later today and meet with Favre tonight and Thursday. Childress remained at the Vikings' headquarters at Winter Park early this afternoon but the source said he is expected to have dinner with Favre this evening and begin discussions about Favre joining the Vikings.
The in-depth portion of the meeting is expected to take place Thursday, according to the report. Among the Vikings’ chief concerns is the status of Favre’s injured right biceps. At this point, the meeting is expected to take place in Mississippi, where Favre lives.
Meanwhile, Packers linebacker Nick Barnett posted his thoughts to his Twitter page, saying that he thinks Favre "should do whatever he feels in his heart."
That said, Barnett added in a second post, "Once he puts that purple (jersey on), he will become an enemy which is all part of the game. It's hard to imagine him doing that."
