Politics blog: State Sen. Lena Taylor mulls lieutenant governor post

State Sen. Lena Taylor, D-Milwaukee, is considering a run for lieutenant governor, an aide said today.

The news makes Taylor the first Democrat to acknowledge considering the office since Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton said on Monday that she would run for governor next year. Taylor unsuccessfully ran against Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker last year.

"It would be at the very preliminary stages," Taylor aide Joe Vande Slunt said of Taylor's consideration of a run.  Vande Slunt said that Taylor had not set a timetable for deciding.
