Politics blog: Wisconsin Counties Association executive director Mark O'Connell to consider run for governor
The executive director of the Wisconsin Counties Association said he's considering a run in the Democratic primary for governor.
Wisconsin Counties Association executive director Mark O'Connell said he's talking with other leaders about the possibility of a run.
"I feel that I have a contribution to make to the future of this state. I think we have to evaluate that," O'Connell said in an interview this afternoon.
O'Connell joins Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, and Sen. Jon Erpenbach, D-Waunakee, who have all said they will run or are considering a run since Gov. Jim Doyle said on Monday he would not seek a third term.
