State Sen. Spencer Coggs, D-Milwaukee, said today he's considering a run for lieutenant governor.
Coggs said he is forming an exploratory committee in the wake of Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton's announcement she will run for governor.
"Since Governor Doyle's announcement not to seek re-election, many people have called urging me to seek statewide office. As I consider their advice, I will seek additional input from fellow elected officials and others throughout the state," Coggs said in a statement.
Coggs' fellow Milwaukee Democrat, Sen. Lena Taylor, has also said she's considering a run. Superior Mayor Dave Ross has said he will run as a Republican.
