UW football: Changes at Camp Randall this season
By TOM MULHERN
The UW athletic department is close to completing the historic displays along the walls of the east councourse of Camp Randall Stadium, known as "Badger Alley."
The two-year projected debuted last year with displays, featuring life-size photos and replicas of some of the most influential figures from the early years of the program.
ZD Studios of Madison is adding six more displays that will bring it up to the current years, including: Barry Alvarez, UW's all-time winningest coach and current athletic director; UW's two Heisman Trophy winners, Alan Ameche and Ron Dayne; as well as tributes to the Paul Bunyan Axe and Heartland Trophy. It will also include the decades of the 1960s, '70s, '80s and '90s, while concluding with a display featuring current coach Bret Bielema and his favorite "1-0" mantra.
"Down the road we are looking at some pretty neat options for the same concourse that holds Badger Alley," UW associate athletic director John Chadima said on uwbadgers.com. "ZD has come up with some real cool ideas like stamping the actual floor with yardage markers and yard lines to coincide as to where you are on the field as you walk through the concourse. We have also thought about using the support pillars to display all the past head coaches in Badger football to give more to the fans that support Wisconsin Athletics."
uwbadgers.com will also have a future update of the newly renovated football meeting space and video department at the north end of Camp Randall.
