UW men's basketball: Badger recruit Jordan Taylor scores 43 points in Minnesota state quarterfinals
Concerned about what's going to happen to the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team with senior guard Michael Flowers graduating after the Badgers' current Sweet 16 run?
Well, the future looked pretty bright Wednesday night.
UW recruit Jordan Taylor, a 6-foot-1 point guard for Benilde-St. Margaret's, poured in 43 points as the Red Knights outscored St. Paul Como Park 76-62 in a Minnesota State High School League Class AAA state quarterfinal game at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Taylor was 11-for-21 from the field, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range, and 16-for-18 at the foul line. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Taylor and teammate Armond Battle, a Tulsa recruit who had 21 points, combined for 64 of Benilde's 76 points in the victory. The Red Knights (27-3), who defeated Madison Memorial at the Target Center in early January, will play Minneapolis Patrick Henry or Saint Michael-Albertville at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Target Center.
