I'm sure many of you are already aware of how to keep your dog safe and sound on Independence Day (see related link).  In addition to the tips offered by the Humane Society of the United States, such as keeping your dog inside with a TV or radio playing during all the fireworks, here are some others:

  • Don't let your dog set off fireworks without adult supervision.
  • Sparks from ground displays can easily set your dog's fur on fire, so make sure you get fireworks that shoot way up in the air.
  • Don't light a stink bomb and blame it on the dog - he'll find a way to get you back.
