We've sent out the call for a range of readers to attend one of two listening sessions about our updated format in the newspaper. We've gotten response from lots of retired folks but not much from those in their 30s and 40s.

I've written about this a couple of times and my friend Renee (whose last name shall remain anonymous) called me the other day to apologize that none of the folks in her 30-something age range had called to tell us what you think of the changes.

Renee was very effusive with praise. She is my friend, after all.

In our most recent research study, we found that we have a much larger group of 30-somethings reading the paper. This is great! We'd love to hear from you.

Is an evening too much of a commitment? If we throw in babysitting, will you volunteer? How about a glass of wine or beer?

Let me know what it takes to get you in here because we know the State Journal belongs to you also.

In other news, I was alerted yesterday to a piece in the Isthmus by Marc Eisen about the intense pressure on me. Hi, Marc. I'm ok over here. Really.

Marc and others had read a news report about financial issues in the news biz. I can't do much about the very complicated media econometrics so I don't worry too much about them. However, I was very stressed that our older readers were unhappy with the Cryptoquote.

We changed that today to make it bigger. So my stress level is dropping. I hope all is well at the Isthmus.
