Badgers-themed Bud Light is not off the shelves in Wisconsin yet, despite a promise from Anheuser-Busch to UW-Madison that it would end the promotion “in the near future.”

The red-and-white cans are still being sold at the Woodman’s West Side store, On Campus confirmed Wednesday  morning. Readers have also reported seeing the 24-packs at the Woodman’s East Side store and in other parts of the state.

But if you want a pack, you may want to act quickly.

After UW-Madison officials protested the sale of the “Fan Cans” last week on the grounds that it creates an unsanctioned association between the university and Bud Light, Anheuser-Busch said it would end the sale of the red-and-white cans to avoid a dispute.

However, the company did not acknowledge any legal transgressions in a letter to the university.

“As you know, we have sold Budweiser beer in red and white packages all over the world for many years,” wrote Anheuser-Busch attorney Scott D. Miller.
