Madison golfer Jerry Kelly confirmed today he will play in the British Open instead of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
Kelly became eligible for the British Open after two players withdrew from the tournament today.
Kelly is eligible due to his official world golf ranking. Kelly is ranked 58th in the world and was the second alternate coming into today based on that ranking.
After David Toms and Luke Donald withdrew, Kelly qualified.
